Focus and Scope

IJIComs focuses on original research that explores the intersection of Islam, communication, and media. The journal's scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Islamic Communication (Da'wah Studies): Theories, methods, and effectiveness of Islamic proselytization (da'wah) and Rhetoric and discourse analysis of Islamic preaching and sermons.Interpersonal and organizational communication in Islamic institutions.

  • Islamic Media Studies: The role and impact of Islamic media (e.g., radio, television, print, and online portals) on Muslim communities, Media representation of Islam, Muslims, and Islamic issues in both local and global contexts and Media ethics and jurisprudence from an Islamic perspective.

  • Digital Islam and New Media: The use of social media, mobile apps, and digital platforms for religious purposes, The dynamics of online religious authority, digital fatwas, and cyber-Islamic environments, and Digital literacy, counter-radicalization, and the spread of religious information online.
